Why I can’t give you all the names now (and who might be missing)

Candidate filing for many local offices (especially county-level) is usually finalized a few months before the primary. The official filing deadline for the 2026 primary is December 8, 2025.

Local elections sometimes include unexpected or last-minute candidates (special districts, judicial seats, school boards, etc.), which aren’t always widely advertised.

What you should do to know exactly who you’ll vote for

Because things can still change, here’s how to stay up to date until ballots are finalized:

Watch the filing window after December 8, 2025, the county election office should have a full list of all candidates. Their contact info is published online.

Check the official county election website’s “Sample Ballots / Candidate List” page often updated after filings close.

Keep an eye on local media (newspapers, local news websites) they usually announce when new candidates declare for local offices.

Before voting, get a personalized sample ballot (many county election offices provide this online, based on your address/polling place).

What we expect you’ll likely see on your ballot

Possibly local judicial or county offices if more candidates file between now and filing deadline

My Advice (especially given your priorities)

Since your main concerns are about values, religion in schools, moral foundations

Don’t wait till the last moment: once candidate lists are final, ask the candidates directly about the issues that matter to you (Ten Commandments in schools, Christian heritage, etc.).

Focus on the candidates you know are running now but treat all local judicial or county-level candidates as unknown until they clearly declare their stance.

Stay alert for surprise filings sometimes people come out of nowhere.
